Wear Resistant Solutions

The Right Materials for Your Application

CerCo manufactures a variety of high-purity ceramic materials in two IS0 9000-certified Ohio facilities. We are a leading worldwide supplier of wear-resistant ceramics, offering solutions for abrasion and corrosion problems for more than six decades, on six continents.

Our solutions are based on your application parameters: types of abrasion, system and equipment design, operating temperatures and materials. CerCo's fine-grained aluminas, silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide, silicon nitride and zirconia compositions offer properties that will optimize the solution for any wear application.

Alumina Standard Tile

CerCo offers a wide variety of standard sizes:

  • Straight-Sided Tile-from 1/2" to 2" (12mm to 50mm) thickness, in solid or weldable-type tile design.
  • Thin Tile - from 1/8" to 1/4" (3mm to 6mm) thickness.
  • Mechanically Interlocking Tile (Tongue and Grooved) - from 1" to 4" (25mm to 100mm) thickness.
  • Hexagonal Tile - from 1/8" to 1" (3mm to 25mm), in 6" x 6" (152rnm) matted, or custom matted for convex and concave surface linings. Loose, flat to flat, or point to point hextile pieces also available.
  • Side-Angled Pipe Tile - in 1/2" (12mm) and 1" (25mm) thicknesses.
  • Monolithic Cylinders

The Material Difference

The small crystal size and hard bonding matrix of CerCo's ultra-fine alumna ceramic creates a material that's almost as hard as diamond, and offers excellent chemical resistance. It out performs other construction materials most commonly used in material handling systems for dry substances, slurries and dust-laden gases, lasting from three to 15 times longer.

Alumina ceramic lasts substantially longer than stainless steel or Ni-hard casting, yet costs about half as much. While alumina ceramic's cost is higher than that of carbon steel, its documented service life is six to 10 times longer.

Pre-Engineered Linings and Monolithic Shapes

CerCo will custom-engineer shapes and pre-engineer ceramic linings made to fit. In addition to reducing field installation time, pre-engineered linings minimize joints, ensure close fit and enhance lining performance to maximize equipment protection. Our state-of-the-art precision cutting and measuring equipment will provide engineered linings for any abrasives handling system.

Wear-Resistant ceramic linings increase productivity in a variety of industry applications:

  • coal preparation and power generation
  • iron and steelmaking
  • chemicals
  • grain handling
  • cement
  • pulp and paper
  • asphalt
  • aggregate and quarry
  • glass and frit
  • fiberglass
  • dredging
  • mining and mineral processing
  • oil and gas drilling
  • bulk solids handling
  • pneumatic conveying
  • roofing materials
  • fly ash
