Structural Components

Our selection of proprietary, engineered ceramics may be just the solution that you've been looking for. Properties of CerCo Structural Ceramics that can help solve your problems include:

High Mechanical Strength: CerCo Structural Ceramics have compressive strengths as high as 425,000 Psi (2930 MPa), flexural strengths up to 120,000 psi (825 MPa), and tensile strengths to 85,000 Psi (584 MPa).

Outstanding Electrical and Electronic Properties: CerCo Structural Ceramics have extremely high electrical resistance, won't support combustion and resist tracking. The high thermal conductivity of these materials quickly dispels heat. Our proprietary 99.5% alumina ceramic, developed specifically for microwave applications, has a dielectric constant of 9.8 at 1 MHz, a dielectric strength up to 300 v/mil and a Q factor that can exceed 48,000 at 1800 MHz in PCS resonator assemblies.

Wear Resistance: CerCo Structural Ceramics are hard (9+ on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond), with excellent resistance to wear by sliding abrasion or erosion.

Extreme Temperature Stability: CerCo Structural Ceramics remain mechanically stable at all temperatures with no cold flow, and maintain strength at continuous use temperatures over 2000°F (1093°C). In certain cases, intermittent operating temperatures can even reach 3000°F (1649°C) without permanent material damage.

Resistant to Corrosion and Chemical Attack: Most CerCo Structural Ceramics do not oxidize and are highly resistant to attack by corrosive liquids, acids, alkalis, organic solvents, molten salts and molten metals.

Gas and Liquid Tight: CerCo Structural Ceramics are 100% impenetrable by liquids or gases, making them ideal for hermetic applications.

CerCo has the capability to design and build Structural Ceramics into most applications:

  • Production quantity capabilities ranging from a few prototypes to millions of pieces per year.
  • ISO 9002 certified manufacturing.
  • State-of-the-art diamond grinding (finishing) and measuring capabilities for tightly toleranced parts.
